Web based CCTV adopted by Surrey police
After a successful pilot scheme, Surrey police will be expanding its use of online CCTV.
The unique camera system, Jabbakam, is much easier to use and has allowed the police in Surrey to view images in real time from the internet.
The CCTV system was introduced to areas in Surrey with high levels of antisocial behaviour and in it’s month trial, the police saw a huge drop in antisocial related crimes.
Not only did crime decrease, but because of the ease of the system, it was easy to identify suspects and it consumed much less time than old CCTV systems that the police previously used.
Surrey police will continue tackling antisocial behaviour at night, by buying more of these cameras that will be placed in residential roads that are affected by antisocial behaviour at night.
