We made a decision a long to time ago to standardize on the main equipment we use. The alarm Panel that we standardized with is hybrid system which means it is very versatile. This system allows us to have three main options when designing an alarm system.

Definitions of intruder alarms types

Audible Alarms

Audible alarm systems are stand alone systems that are not connect to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). If an alarm condition does occur then the sounders fitted internally or externally will sound. Audible systems can be connected to your mobile phone to notify you when an alarm condition has occurred. All our Audible alarm systems are designed so that should the customer ever want to be communicated to the ARC it is easily achieved.

Monitored Alarms

Monitored alarm systems are connected to an ARC. The monitoring station that we use is fully compliant. Monitoring systems monitor the signals that your alarm sends to them. Signals can be sent either down your phone line or by a wireless link to the ARC. The alarm panel that we use has a digital communicator in built on the circuit board ready to communicate; all it needs is the phone line to be connected. There are also dual path signalling systems.

Digital Communicator

Digital communicators work simply by being connected to a BT phone line or adsl line. In the event of your intruder alarm being activated the digital communicator will send a signal down the phone line to the ARC. The only negative with a digital communicator is if the phone line is cut then the Intruder Alarm can not communicate.

Dual Path Signaling

There are Three main types of Dual Path Signaling:

Emizon 21

The DualCom System is a totally integrated dual path signalling system using a radio path as its primary signalling route with a land line as a secondary route. This combination ensures an alarm signal can be transmitted despite deliberate or accidental failure of either path. DualCom uses the Vodafone network for its radio signalling path.
BT Red care is a totally integrated dual path signalling system using a BT land line as its primary signalling route with an integrated GSM mobile unit as its secondary route. This combination ensures an alarm signal can be transmitted despite deliberate or accidental failure of either path. BT Red Care uses the BT cellular network as its GSM signalling path.

Emizon 21 is a totally integrated dual path signalling system using ip signalling over the internet as its primary signalling route, with an integrated GSM mobile unit as its secondary route. This combination ensures an alarm signal can be transmitted despite deliberate or accidental failure of either path. Emizon 21 uses the Vodafone network as its GSM signalling path.
